We are excited to announce Echoes: A Traveling Exhibition Inspired by Revolution, a county-wide exhibition series celebrating America 250. Beginning June 20 and culminating on August 30, this traveling exhibition will visit communities across St. Lawrence County, pairing visual art with conversations about the people, ideas, and moments that continue to shape our nation. Each stop will feature a one-day exhibition alongside presentations by exhibiting artists and local historians.
Echoes: A Traveling Exhibition Inspired by Revolution is a county-wide humanities and arts initiative presented by the St. Lawrence County Arts Council. Through visual art, historical interpretation, and community dialogue, the project explores the many meanings of revolution—political, social, cultural, personal, and creative. Artists are invited to reflect on moments of change, acts of courage, challenges to the status quo, and the enduring impact of revolutionary ideas throughout American history and contemporary life.
A series of four outdoor pop-up exhibitions will take place in Ogdensburg, Gouverneur, Waddington, and Massena, each centered around a unique theme inspired by revolutionary movements, local histories, and community stories. Every event will feature artwork, artist talks, historical perspectives, and hands-on creative experiences that encourage visitors to engage with the exhibition themes through making, discussion, and reflection.
The program will culminate in ZineFest in Potsdam, a county-wide celebration featuring artist tables, community conversations, creative activities, and opportunities for visitors to share their own stories, perspectives, and visions for the future.
