The Dice Tell a Story: A Brief Overview of Tabletop Roleplaying Games

In this presentation, we will cover what a TTRPG is, where the origins of TTRPGs lie, and what the current TTRPG landscape looks like, all in an open Q&A conversation.

    • Types of TTRPGs
    • Player Expectations
    • The Storyteller’s Role
    • Running a Session

Sara L. Cantwell has an MFA in poetry and fiction and from the Vermont College of Fine Arts and an MA in English and Communication From SUNY Potsdam. She’s an adjunct instructor, lead writer for Illuminacrum Studio Arts LLC, an avid poet, fiction author, and TTRPG DM. Her work has been published in Art Direct, Blueline, Ghost City Press & Review, Barbaric Yawp, North Country Literary Magazine, The Startup, Mind Murals, TEDx and DriveThruRPG. Her most recent publication is the tabletop roleplaying game How To Survive… Zombies If You’re A Zero.
