Telling Stories Through Poetry with Jim Bourey

Join us at SLC Arts for the first of several poetry workshops that will be led by Jim Bourey this year. Jim is the author of four books of poetry – Silence, Interrupted – Broadkill River Press 2015, The Distance Between Us, Cold River Press 2020, Out There and Back Again, Cold River Press 2023, Season of Harvest (with Linda Blaskey) Pond Road Press 2022. Jim‘s work has also been published in many journals and anthologies. He is the organizer of the DAC Poetry Night Series in Malone. And he can often be found reading aloud in dimly lit rooms.

Explore narrative poetry, Haibun, sequential poems that build a story, memoir poems, etc. Examples from noted poets and small exercises will be provided.
