Teen Summer Program: Pixel Art and Watercolor

SLC Arts invites students from across the county to register for their 5-week Teen Summer Arts Program in Potsdam! This program is made possible through funding from the St. Lawrence County Youth Bureau.
Pixel Art with Krystal Hewer:
What started as simple squares of light has transformed over time into one of the most important visual art forms of our time… Pixel Art!
From the classics of Pac-Man, Mario and Pokemon to the new generation of Terraria, Minecraft, Two Crowns and more, if you love the style of geometric art or just want to celebrate your favorite fandom, join Krystal Hewer to create your own mini-masterpiece. Explore the history of pixel art and 8-bit, 16-bit and beyond and create your own perfect pixel art painting using a variety of techniques in acrylic.
From beginner to master painter, there is something for everyone in pixel art!
Watercolor with Krystal Hewer:
Join Hewer for an exploration of one of the most accessible mediums: Watercolor. This isn’t just your elementary school art project! Learn how to apply washes, mix gradients, and add a variety of other materials to your watercolor to become a painting chemist!
On top of several studies, you will get to choose a final image to create your own masterpiece with your new talents as a watercolorist!
