2020 Fine Art Up North Calendar

Fine Art Up North is an annual calendar published by SLC Arts showcasing the work of North Country artists. Artists are invited to submit up to three images for consideration by a panel of jurors for inclusion in the calendar.

New 4′ x 4′ Art Inspired by Barn Quilts

Artists working in any visual, material, or textual medium, including folk and traditional arts, may apply. The project particularly seeks representation in media such as: metalworking, marquetry, basketry, weaving, clay, paper, and poetry/text arts. In making their own piece, which should be in the form of a wall-mountable 4’x4’ square, artists are asked to reflect on questions of place, identity, heritage, and self-expression.

2019 Remington Arts Festival: Art Show & Sale

The Village of Canton and the St. Lawrence County Arts Council work together every fall to present the Art Show & Sale as part of the Remington Arts Festival, a “celebration of art excellence in the North Country.” Artists who create high quality art and fine crafts are invited to apply for booth space in this juried show. This is a wonderful opportunity to show and sell your work to visitors from around the region. The Remington Festival includes a variety of musical and historical programs, and coincides with Family Weekend at St. Lawrence University, which brings in many parents from across the country.
Booth spaces are 12′ x 12′ outdoors on the Village Green in Canton, rain or shine.

2019 Artists’ Studio Tour

Studio Tour offers community residents and visitors the opportunity to take a self-guided driving tour of artist studio spaces across St. Lawrence County. Artists at any stage of their arts careers are invited to register to be a stop on the tour. Artists are strongly encouraged to offer a component focused on explaining your creative process to the public, such as a display, activity, or demonstration.
