Professional Skills for Artists; Pricing and Product Development with Hilary Oak – Thursday, April 22nd from 6:00 – 8:00pm.  Many
artists struggle with how to price and sell their work. This workshop
will help artists, musicians & performers evaluate and enhance the
products and services they offer, and develop a strategy to accurately

Financial Skills for Artists: Credit Reports and Scores with Jerry Manor
Tuesday, April 27th from 6:00-7:00pm.  Jerry Manor of SeaComm can help you
unravel the mysteries of the Credit Report.  What information is included on your
credit report?  What is a Credit Score and why is it important?  How does your
use of credit impact these reports and how can you improve your overall picture? 
Join us in this free class offered in conjunction with SeaComm Federal Credit Union’s
educational program.  Donations are accepted.

Financial Skills for Artists: Protecting Your Identity with Jerry Manor
Tuesday, May 25th from 6:00-7:00pm - from 6:00-7:00pm.  How would you know if
someone stole your identity?  How can you protect your personal financial information
in this electronic age, especially when e-commerce is so important for artists? 
Jerry Manor of SeaComm will present useful information about protecting your financial
identity and recognizing the warning signs of identity theft.  This class is a free service
offered in conjunction with SeaComm Federal Credit Union’s educational program.

    Is your organization one of the more than 1,800 already taking part in the New York State Cultural Data Project? If not, now is a great time to attend a demonstration and discussion training session to help you get started with the CDP.

    This powerful tool will, at no cost, allow arts managers and artistic leaders to understand and analyze their organization’s financial performance through easy-to-run reports. By participating in the New York State CDP, you will be part of a successful and growing project that will allow researchers and the arts community as a whole to better articulate and provide evidence for the sector’s assets and needs, as well as its contributions to the state and the country. By completing the online form annually, you will also be able to generate reports to be submitted to grantmakers with the click of a button.

The Robert J. Ludwig Scholarship--NYSAAE is pleased to announce the newly created
Robert J. Ludwig Scholarship.  Mr. Ludwig is a founding board member of NYSAAE and
our current Treasurer.  The Scholarship provides two individuals full registration to any given
NYSAAE sponsored professional development offering.  In honor of Bob's longterm service
and dedication to the mission of NYSAAE, the scholarship will increase accessibility to
professional development opportunities for arts teachers, general classroom educators,
teaching artists and school administrators.

Applications must be received by the NYSAAE not less than one month prior to the date of
the program applying for scholarship to attend. Applicants will be notified no later than two
weeks prior to the date of the program. Applications are review by the NYSAAE program
committee and all determinations are final. Award is for registration fees only – no cash
awards will be made. Applicant is responsible for travel, lodging, meals and all other expenses
incurred in conjunction with the program. Only one award per person per calendar year.
