Intro to Watercolors (two part class) with Michiko Taylor

Students can be beginner or intermediate level painters. DAY 1: draw from still life for the first hour, then discuss how to mix color and how to use brushes. DAY 2: finish our paintings and learn more about how watercolors work. Pre-registration and pre-payment required.
Class price does not include materials. Please bring the following teacher-recommended supplies with you to class: 2-3 sheets of 12″x16″ 140 lb watercolor paper (Arches is Michiko’s preferred brand); a large enough piece of cardboard or plexi glass to tape the paper on to; paint: at least 6 basic colors (student grade is fine): alizarin crimson, any yellow, ultramarine blue, raw sienna, burnt sienna, and indigo (if you already have other colors of paint, you can bring those too); brushes: 1 , 3/4, 1/2 flat and 4, 6, 12 round (if you do not have all these brushes, bring whatever you do have); pencil (2B); eraser; plastic palette; empty container to hold water for your brushes; your favorite fruit if you want something different than what Michiko brings for the class
