Hilary Emerson Lay is a friendly, high-energy, pink-haired visual artist who relocated from Cape Cod to Canton in the fall of 2012. She is a mixed media painter who also sews stuffed critters out of socks and makes necklaces out of tiny canvases. In early 2012, Hilary left her independent bookstore management job of ten years to participate in an artist-in-residency program at Elsewhere Studios in Paonia, CO. She is thrilled to now devote most of her time to making art, and is excited to immerse herself in the North Country arts scene.
